President Prabowo Subianto urged the newly commissioned officers of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and National Police (Polri) to always set the best example in their daily lives. Speaking at the 2025 Oath-Taking and Commissioning Ceremony at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta, President Prabowo emphasized the importance of internalizing the oath of office taken, viewing it as a solemn commitment to serve the nation and its people. He highlighted the significance of deeply understanding the oath, not just reciting it as a formality, but living it out with integrity and a willingness to sacrifice for the nation.
President Prabowo reminded the officers of the great responsibility they now bear, which includes safeguarding the country’s sovereignty and the security of its people. He recounted Indonesia’s struggle for independence, emphasizing the sacrifices made and the importance of being prepared for challenges and threats that may arise. The President stressed the need for strength and unity to prevent being overcome by external interests and to uphold the nation’s sovereignty.
In his address, President Prabowo called on the newly commissioned officers to remember the oath they had taken before Almighty God and the people of Indonesia, declaring their readiness to serve and if necessary, make the ultimate sacrifice for the country. He urged them to embody the values of service, dedication, and selflessness in fulfilling their duty to the nation. The people of Indonesia, he stated, look to them for protection, security, and unwavering commitment to the nation’s well-being.
President Prabowo’s speech emphasized the importance of leading by example, maintaining integrity, and always being prepared to defend the nation’s interests. He concluded by encouraging the newly commissioned officers to uphold the values of sacrifice, service, and dedication as they embark on their journey as defenders of Indonesia.
