Indonesia celebrates National Children’s Day not just as a yearly festivity. President Prabowo Subianto aims to use this day as a catalyst for concrete actions to ensure a better future for the nation’s children. The government has introduced three key programs focused on the well-being of children: Nutritious Free Meals (MBG), Free Health Checkups (CKG), and School Revitalization. MBG goes beyond simply feeding children; it aims to provide essential daily nutrition, especially considering that many school-aged children attend classes on empty stomachs. This lack of breakfast not only affects their focus but also contributes to iron deficiency anemia, which can lead to a decline in IQ. The Free Health Checkups aim to fulfill the constitutional rights of citizens, including children, by providing preventive healthcare services. Additionally, the School Revitalization Program plans to renovate over 11,000 schools nationwide, focusing on those in underserved areas with inadequate learning facilities. President Prabowo has allocated funds to address the widespread structural damage in schools, highlighting the urgent need for improved learning environments, especially for girls who face challenges due to lack of proper facilities. These initiatives underscore the government’s commitment to ensuring the well-being, health, and safety of Indonesia’s children.
