Jakarta – Prime Minister or President of the Government of Spain Pedro Sánchez congratulated presidential candidate number 2 Prabowo Subianto who won in the 2024 presidential election.
He conveyed his congratulations through an official letter with the letterhead El Presidente Del Goboerno dated February 27, 2024. The letter was delivered directly by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain, Francisco de Asis Aguilera Aranda, to the Ministry of Defense office on Friday (15/3).
“I would like to convey my congratulations on Your Excellency’s victory in the presidential election on February 14th,” Pedro said to Prabowo in his letter.
The people of Indonesia have clearly entrusted their trust in the leadership and programs offered to successfully face the next five years,” he continued.
Pedro also expressed his confidence in Prabowo’s experience and good performance to lead Indonesia in the future.
“I am confident that Your Excellency’s experience and good performance in his policies will enable the Indonesian people to achieve a better level of welfare during his term,” Pedro said.
He also revealed that Spain and Indonesia have successfully developed extraordinary relations, both bilaterally and at multilateral forums attended by both countries, particularly at the G-20.
These relations, said Pedro, are based on common principles and values, fundamentally upholding international peace and security, and respecting International Law rules in supporting the United Nations system and cooperation to address climate emergencies.
“Spain will continue to strengthen its relations with Indonesia. I take this opportunity to express my utmost appreciation to the Newly Elected President,” he said.
Prabowo also expressed his gratitude for Pedro’s congratulations. He revealed this in his personal Instagram post @prabowo on Friday.
“It is an honor to receive congratulations from the President of the Government of Spain, Your Excellency Pedro Sánchez,” Prabowo said.
Prabowo said that the bilateral relations between Indonesia and Spain will continue to be enhanced through a strategic partnership in the fields of economy, defense, and culture, as well as a deep friendship that has been closely established.
